Steve Raptis is a partner at Crowell & Moring LLP in Washington, D.C., where he represents policyholders in insurance recovery matters. He has more than 30 years of experience representing policyholders in directors and officers, errors and omissions, cyber, environmental and general liability coverage matters. He joined Crowell in July 2026 from Reed Smith, where he was a partner in the insurance recovery practice, and previously practised at Manatt, Haynes & Boone, K&L Gates, Gilbert, and Swidler Berlin Shereff Friedman. He is a Chambers-ranked insurance recovery attorney and a longtime board member of Washington, D.C.'s Volunteer Legal Advocates, with career-long pro bono work for domestic violence and human trafficking victims, clients with developmental disabilities, asylum seekers and minority farmers. At Legal Cyber Academy he teaches on data breach mediation.
