How it works
Four steps, none of them paid.
The model
Watch, save, pass, self-submit
- 1
Watch any course, free
No account, no fee, no subscription. Open a course, press play. Lesson videos stream from the Legal Cyber Academy YouTube channel inside the course page, and the written lesson notes sit underneath.
- 2
Sign in to save your progress
A free account records which lessons you have opened and completed, so you can pick up where you left off across lessons and devices. That is all it is for — nothing is unlocked by it.
- 3
Pass the exam to earn a certificate
Each course ends with a graded exam: 10 questions drawn at random from the course’s question bank for each attempt, timed at 2 minutes a question (20 minutes in all). Score 70% or better and affirm you completed the course, and you receive a Certificate of Completion with a verification code anyone can check.
- 4
Credit is a self-submission, where your board allows it
We are not an accredited CLE, CE, CME or CPE provider, and no course is pre-approved for credit anywhere. If your jurisdiction accepts self-submitted education, use the course’s self-submission package: the Continuing Education Information Sheet linked from every course page (at
/courses/<course>/credit), attached to your Certificate of Completion. Whether credit is granted, and how much, is your board’s decision.
Legal Cyber Academy is not an accredited continuing-education provider, and its courses are not pre-approved for CLE, CE, CME, or CPE credit. Each course provides a graded assessment, a verifiable Certificate of Completion, and a Continuing Education Information Sheet documenting instructional time, learning objectives, faculty, and a timed agenda — the records most licensing bodies require when a learner applies for self-submitted or self-study credit. Whether credit is granted, and how much, is determined solely by your licensing board. Confirm your board's rules before claiming credit.
Why free?
Because this material is more useful circulated than sold
Legal Cyber Academy is practitioner-taught training at the intersection of law and technology, for the lawyers, executives, compliance and security leaders, and insurance professionals who have to make the call. The faculty are working practitioners — litigators, forensic examiners, general counsel, underwriters — and what they teach is worth more reaching the people who carry the risk than sitting behind a checkout. Purchases and subscriptions were discontinued on November 2, 2026; nothing on the site requires payment.
Where the videos live
YouTube, embedded on the course page
Lesson videos are hosted on the Legal Cyber Academy YouTube channel as public videos and embedded on each lesson page with YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), which defers YouTube’s cookies until you press play. A small number of lessons still stream from our previous host while they are moved across. What each player sends and stores is set out in the privacy policy.
