What it is
Magnet Forensics' online DFIR conference, delivered over several weeks of sessions. The 2026 edition has taken place and its recordings are published as a free replay library, searchable by speaker, theme, language and week, covering mobile forensics, cloud investigations, video analysis and corporate investigations.
Who it is for, and when
For most practitioners the replay library is the real product: a large body of current artefact and workflow talks you can watch for nothing, including a good deal of research presented by non-Magnet examiners. It is the cheapest way to keep current if your employer will not fund travel, and the mobile and cloud sessions track where the evidence is actually moving. The 2026 edition also ran a capture-the-flag competition, and the 2027 edition is announced for 8 to 11 February 2027.
What it does not cover
It is a vendor-hosted event and a fair proportion of the sessions are delivered by Magnet product specialists around Magnet tooling, so it is not a neutral survey and not peer reviewed. Being virtual, it gives you none of the corridor contact of an in-person conference, and the in-person Magnet User Summit — Austin, Texas, 8 to 10 March 2027 — is a separate, paid event.
